The Start of My Last Transfer

Highlights of the week:

-This week we had a sisters training in Oslo for 3 days since there are 11 new sisters and 11 new trainers! It was awesome! We learned a lot about how to be better missionaries and stuff. I really enjoyed it!

-Sister Crenshaw and I also had a miracle week! We prayed to teach people lessons on the street and were very specific with the number of people and.. we were able to do it! We also got a new investigator! I remember thinking as we were teaching these people on the street.. wow God answers prayers! It is happening right now! haha

-We had an awesome Sunday. Since last week was General Conference we didn't get to see a lot of members, so it was great to spend time with them. I love the Drammen ward!

-This week is the start of my last transfer! Crazy! I can't believe it is almost over. I plan to work hard with Sister Crenshaw!

-Way exciting news... my little brother Sam gets to open his mission call tomorrow night! I am soo excited for him!! Can't wait to find out where he goes!

Easter Week in Norway

Easter Week in Norway is like a ghost town, so that means that missionaries spend a lot of time with the members! It was really fun!

Highlights of the week:

Mandag: We celebrated Elder Broadbent's birthday at Mariell's (member in the ward). We played a fun norwegian game.

Tirsdag: We went to a member dinner with the elders and then helped out at Balliadon.
Balliadon is Norway’s youth conference! It is soo cool! They stay together for 3 days and do sports and have a huge dance/ball party with dancing and singing. We helped serve food at the ball Tuesday night. The singers in the show were just youth from the stake and they were so talented! It was fun to talk to the all the youth dressed up. They all said hi to the missionaries. :)

Onsdag: We went to a funeral of a sweet lady I knew in Trondheim, who recently moved to Drammen. It was a very beautiful and sad day. I got to see the Rappleyes and some other members from Trondheim. It was a day I won't forget on my mission.

Torsdag: We had zone leadership training all day and then we contacted. It was the last day we were allowed to contact, so me and Sister Crenshaw went with faith into the city. We talked to a lot of people and taught this one guy the restoration. He wasn't interested in meeting, but he asked what makes us different from other churches. He said in the end.. oh that is a difference! It was cool!
Fredag: Such a fun day!! We went on a hike, roasted hot dogs and played games with a member family (The Weggersens). Then we all went to dinner at the Brownlees. Super fun!

Lørdag: We ate at a member's house, played a game with them, and then got a referral!

Søndag: God Påske! Went to church and then ate dinner with the Pedersens :)

Mandag: Yesterday, we spent the day with the nicest people! We have some neighbors who love sister missionaries. They are not members of the church, but wanted to spend the whole day with us and take us around Drammen. It was super fun and I loved learning about their lives and what they are interested in.

This weekend is General Conference! I am so stoked! I encourage you to write down questions you have and listen for them during conference. This is a great time to receive personal revelation! I am grateful for living prophets and apostles! I know that God speaks through them and we should obey their counsel. There are blessings that come when we listen to them! I know this to be true because I have experienced it.

New Sister

I got my new missionary on Wednesday! Her name is Sister Crenshaw and I am the worst because I didn't take any pictures this week! I will send them next week. She is super cute! She is 19 years old, from Lindon, UT, and we have a lot in common. :) She is a ballerina and just so adorable. We have a 5 year age difference, so it feels like I am hanging out with my cousin, Kenzie. haha I love training!! I didn't realize how much I would love it until it happened! Wow. I have learned so much these last 5 days. I am already so grateful.

I picked Sister Crenshaw up from the mission home on Wednesday and took her back to the house to drop her suitcases off then I said, ok let's go contacting! Is that mean? haha Well, we did and found a cool potential. That night we went knocking on doors and found a former investigator. The gift of tongues is real and Sister Crenshaw is doing so well even though she doesn't understand what most people are saying! haha It is super fun!

On Thursday, we had some appointments with some investigators and stopped a guy on the street that said he would call us later. Well, that night he did actually call us and invited us over with his wife on Saturday. He actually just wanted to bible bash with us, so that was a little heartbreaking... We talked to a lot of cool people on the streets and met with some cool members. On Sunday, we got asked to teach the whole Restoration lesson in Sunday School. We were a little nervous for it, but oh my gosh! It went so well! I am so proud of Sister Crenshaw! The spirit worked through us so well and the members were impressed.

Missions are the best! Training is so fun!

I am TRAINING!

MOVES CALL was yesterday! I am training!!.. all by myself. Sister House is leaving me. She is transferring to Ålesund. I will find out who I am training when I pick her up at the mission home on Wednesday. So that is exciting. I am having a baby! haha

Last week for P-day we went to Oslo! It was way fun! We went to the center and went shopping in the city. Good times. We had an awesome week and found 2 new positive investigators. Yay! I am excited about working with them. It will be good for the new missionary too. Also, I am excited about the Greenie Fire new missionaries bring! Miracles are coming our way! Since Sister Firth and Sister House are leaving Drammen, we said a lot of goodbyes to members this week. Det var koselig. :)

Drammen has such a good ward! They are so good to invite us over for dinner. Now we just gotta find people to teach and baptize! I am hoping for the best for these last 2 transfers on my mission. I am grateful for the opporunity to serve, learn, and grow. It allows me to strengthen my faith and rely fully on God. It is a beautiful thing. I am so grateful for His grace.

Sisters Training

Hallo!

Let's see.. Sister Firth came back last Monday, so we are trio again. But Sister Firth goes home next week and we are getting 11 new sisters. I will be training. So that is exciting.

We had zone conferance last week in Oslo and that was way fun! I got to see a lot of my old companions, Sister Peterson (Bodø), Sister Horner (MTC), and Sister Sorensen (Trondheim). It had been one year since I had seen Sister Horner, so it was a good reunion!

We had a lot of good member teaches this week. I feel like I am getting to know the members better here in Drammen. Also, I hit my one year mark in Norway on Wednesday! Crazy!

I had a lot of spiritual experiences this week.. because ya know I am a missionary, but I will share one with you. We met with a recent convert last night and there was a huge change in her. We watched a general conference talk together called "Grateful in Any Circumstances" by Pres. Uchtdorf. A week ago she was soo down and depressed because of certain difficult circumstances. A miracle happened. Things worked out for her. There was a light in her eyes. It was so beautiful to see. She felt like this talk was speaking just to her. I am grateful for prophets and apostles and their wise counsel. They answer prayers. I love seeing that help others.

I read the best talk this week! It is called "Becoming True Millennials by Pres. Russell M. Nelson. He said something that really hit me. He said,

"You will have days when you will be thoroughly discouraged.

So, pray for courage not to give up!

You will need that strength because it will become less and less popular to be a Latter-day Saint.

Sadly, some whom you thought were your friends will betray you.

And some things will simply seem unfair."

It is going to become less and less popular to believe in God. It is already happening today. I see it in Norway. I see it happening around the world. Do NOT fall into this trend! It is the last days and we need to be extra strong. Life is soo much happier, fulfilling, and peaceful when you believe! Your faith is going to get your through your hard times. This is the truth. This is God's church. The fruits are good. The spirit is here. This is where your Father in Heaven wants you to be. Don't you loose faith. We need your light and examples. Faith in God is the only thing that is going to help us.
